PAPD 37 (Port Authority Police Dept.)
What is the Port Authority?
“In 1921, the states of New York and New Jersey received consent from Congress to form an interstate agency to develop and modernize the entire port district in order to improve commerce and trade. The port district centers around New York Harbor, and includes 1,500 square miles from both states.” Port Authority of New York and New Jersey website

On Guard At The Fed, 2003
Why did the local branch of the nation’s central bank place an armed guard at its entrance in 2003? Was it the threat of terrorism? Or maybe, because the Fed keeps about 6,000 tons of gold in the basement, it was a concern for bank robbers. Or perhaps it was the fear of what would be the Federal Reserve System’s most dangerous menace of all–independent auditors.
