The Titanic was destined for pier 59 in NYC, which today is a golf driving range and multimedia studio complex at Chelsea Piers. The memorial was built–in part at the insistence of the “Unsinkable Molly Brown” –by the Seamen’s Church Institute and dedicated in 1913.
