Sepulchre of Matthew Livingston Davis in lower left is said to be haunted by the ghost of Alexander Hamilton, whose tombstone is in upper center. Davis served as one of Aaron Burr’s seconds during “The Duel” and was buried there–well within haunting range–46 years later.
The Chatham Square Cemetery of the Shearith Israel Congregation located in Chinatown at 55 St. James Place is the oldest Jewish cemetery in US and the only 17th century structure left in Manhattan. Some of the 107 remaining graves are of Revolutionary War soldiers.
